Don't You Want One? I Know You Do!

Hey everyone!  Help a girl out!

Do you know anyone who would like to adopt a puppy {ok more like a fully trained dog}?

My bff is moving back to closer-to-home, which is great!, but they can't find any places to rent that will let them bring both of their dogs :(

They have 2 trained labs...Max and Molly

Please email me if you know of anyone who might want to adopt one of these adorable little ones!  We really don't them to have to surrender them to a shelter...

Thanks for all of your help!

Its so Wonderful

I'm honored!  Thanks go out to Sara from Unwrap Life agging me in her Kreativ Blogger Award!

The rules...
List seven things that I love.
Pass the award on to seven bloggers that I love

Shouldn't be to hard right?  After all this is Pour l'amour de...{For the love of...}.

1.  Our Little Family
Husand is at school studying for his block of examines tomorrow and I am home with the puppies, The Fluffy One and The Little One.  Its a small little family, but it is perfect!  It will eventually expand, but not anytime in the near future.    It is never a dull moment with the pups.  As an example here's a little video clip of the mood that they are in this morning...

2.  Reading
I love to escape into the world of a book, if only for a few pages at a time.  Right now I am reading 3 different books and have a list of about 30 that I want to get to soon!  I didn't love to read until Husband came along.  He reads A LOT.  He will go through 3 books in one weekend and has a complex that he must own the books that he reads so that he can reread them again and again {he could seriously read the words of the page}.  Its because of him that I have developed this love!  If you're wondering the books that I've read or are on my list to read click on the like in the menu above {or here}.  I'm working on populating the list now!

3.  Science
I am admit it I am  nerd!  Science fasinates me!  Its always changing and moving, trying to understand the world and how it works!

4.  Photography
My artistic outlet.  I have mentioned before how I need to have a balance between science and the arts in my life to be happy and this is how I do it...

5.  Sewing
Another artistic outlet that I could spend way to much time a money working on.  I love to design and make my own clothes.  I just takes to much time to actualy make the outfits and time is something that I don't have a lot of.  I learned from my Grandmother, who learned from her mother...This love has led me to do some pretty amazing things.  My Grandmother taught me to sew {correctly} when I made my senior prom dress for a class project.  She was there guiding my hands as I made my wedding dress.

I love my Grandmother for all the love, help and guidance she has given me!

6.  Calla Lilies
They are so beautiful!  They have clean lines and an elegant flower.

7.  My Ancestors
{Yes I'm a nerd I have already established this}
My Great Grandparents came here from Germany for a brighter future.  They did not have a great education, but opened a tavern to support they're family.  My Grandfather could not go to school and stayed home to run the family business and here I am.  A third generation from imigrants with a Masters in Chemistry and working in pharmaceuical reseach!  My ancestor's hard work have made all of it possible and proves that America is the land of opportunities!

So that you have it.  Seven things that I love.

I am passing this wonderful award on to:

Angela Darling from 20-Something Dreams
Jessica Lynn from Tying the Knot and Penned and Pretty
jlc from French Kiss

An Image for Today - Wednesday

Are you kidding me with that color?

I have been in love with the color purple for the last few months!  When I can across Kelly Moore's blog with this fabulous purple chair I was in love with the chair and the photography!

What is your current color crush?

In other news, I had a great workout last night!  I haven't been having very good workouts and its been driving me crazy!  I thought this beautiful weather that we are having would be great for me to venture out of the climate and air filtered gym.

The puppies and I got ready and headed out.  Now the puppies are Siberian huskies - they're supposed to be runners and pullers right?  Well Little One is definitely the lead dog and all about 'working' while on a run.  However, Fluffy {being the prissy little prince that he is...} didn't feel like 'working'.  I dragged him around the neighborhood for 30 minutes while Little One was dragging me {she doesn't really pull, but she does just keep going}.  I marked this run down as a not so good workout!

Last night I stayed in the gym and was puppies free and it felt great!  Maybe it was just a good workout or maybe it was the energy drink I downed before I left the house...You know it was a good one when you're already sore when you try to get out of the car after the drive home :)

I sad that I can't follow it up with another great one tonight, but I doubt after working 11 hours and going to book club tonight that I will be up for it!

I hope you all can get a good run in for me!

Follow the yellow lined road?

I am loving this golden, yellow field on this cloudy day and am dreaming of the warmer, sunnier days ahead.

Weekend Recap

Friday - We went to a vow renewal for one of the guys at work.  It was the first time Husband has gotten to meet anyone from my work place and I was excited for him to be able to put faces with the names that I talk about.  It went well!  I was terrible and didn't get any pictures, but I will post more detail about it later!

Saturday - The Husband and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day on the grounds that if you need one day out of the year to show your spouse that you love them, you are not doing very good job the rest of the year.  So, instead we went to the bookstore. (Which happens to be a weekly trip for us!)  We ordered a few books and they should be here today!!

Sunday - I made A TON of cupcakes.  I'm talking over 150 to the suckers!  I will tell you more about why later this week!

It was a pretty good weekend and ended abruptly with the arrival of Monday which seemed to never end!  And to top it all off I had to track down the escapees.

You might remember this post from when the Little One got loose.  Well this time it was BOTH of them (and Fluffy is a runner!), on their brand new chains, and Husband was not at home!  The neighbors called to let us know that our puppies were wagging their tails at their back door (thank you).  Luckily they hadn't gotten far and I caught them, but I was definitely out of breath!

I think we will be getting, yet some more, new tie-out chains...

Sorry.  I haven't been a very good poster the last few days (I have lots of things to post) and this was a really random post.  It will get better, I promise!

in the dog house...

My morning started off with a huge scare followed by a cold jog and oh is Little Puppy in her dog house!

I put the dogs out this morning and checked on them a few times...they were running and playing and pulling on their ropes. Husband went out to bring them in after their hour of play time and came back in asking me "where's the other one?"

WHAT? Are kidding me? The Little Houdini has done it again!

So we were jogging through the neighborhood calling for her this morning. It.is.cold.out! We finally spotted her and she came running up to Husband just as happy as could be, with no cares in the world or realization that she was 'free'.

She does this on occasion, but we have no idea how she gets the clasp on the rope off the collar all by herself {hello no opposable thumbs!}

Do any of you with dogs have little houdinis like mine? Any suggestions on how to keep her on her rope? I am open to suggestions!

Look at Me!! I'm pretty...

Hello Little Puppy! I believe this is her first appearance on my blog. {wow I'm a bad puppy mama}. She loves to sit pretty for the camera...its like she nows that she is adorable.

I was really excited about this picture because her blue eye came out blue! Between the Fluffy one and the Little one, we usually come out with 3 red eyes and one brown. And I just love her and the color red together!

Are there any other puppy parents out there? What tricks do you use to get them to pose for the camera? How do you show off their colors and their eyes?

Huskies laying by an open fire...

Ok, the holiday is over and I'm getting back to blogging!

Where do your furry children like to curl up during the Christmas season? Do they like the snow?

How was your thanksgiving? Did you go out shopping on Black Friday? Have you put up your Christmas decorations yet?

I had a great time shopping and am ready for Christmas now!

I have started putting out decorations and can't wait to get our tree! I will have to wait a little longer though...Husband has to travel this week and we love to decorate our tree together {not to mention it helps that he can put on the Angel without a step ladder!}

Isn't Fluffy Puppy adorable curled up in front of the fire? It is his favorite spot when its cold outside...who would of thought the husky with all of his fur loves to roast himself until he's panting.

Little Puppy doesn't so much like the heat, but loves to take big brother's spot! which reminds me...I need to take an updated picture of our stocking since we brought home Little Puppy.

Where do your furry little ones like to curl up during the Christmas season? Do they love the snow?

What are you staring at?...

The ground has now frozen and the furry children have sensed it. Their coats are coming in thicker and they have started the terrible practice of digging holes to keep warm in. That's right...I have fur flying through the house that the vacuum could never keep up with and I have large holes appearing in the yard that we will have to fill in come spring.

For all the hassle...I love the winter and so do they. They are from Siberia {kind of} and the snow is their element. They are made for it.

We love our furry kids!
